Outdoor fitness we enjoy better health

In a recent study, published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, athletes were asked to get out of the gym and do fitness exercises in the open air, public parks and nature reserves. To answer the question,  how many outdoor fitness exercises are recommended that can lead to a significant change in mood and a good sense of the body?

The study, published in the Scientific Journal, urges people who are interested in physical fitness exercises with a high frequency, but due to pressures, such as work and family, they do not have enough time to practice them.

According to the study, only 5 minutes of physical fitness exercises in the public park, walking in the park or nature reserve or in another green environment, is enough to improve both physical and psychological health. Of course, the longer the duration of the exercise, the better. It is advisable to reach the natural environment, take time to relax, get out of the routine and be in harmony with nature and calmness.

The study researchers define "green" fitness exercises as exercises in the natural environment. Many studies indicated that there is evidence to support this, that outdoor fitness exercises reduce the possibility of mental illness and improve a sense of well-being, happiness and stillness in humans so far and despite all this, no one knows what is the exact time that we should allocate for exercises "Green" fitness in order to obtain these benefits. But it seems that even a minimal amount of time has an effect on health.

For the first time in scientific writings, we can show reactions to doses of exposure to nature and the positive impact of nature on human mental health.

The researchers analyzed 1252 questionnaires of people (of different ages, both women and men, with different mental health) who participated in 10 different studies conducted in England. With this, the researchers were able to show that physical fitness exercises in the presence of a natural environment lead to an improvement in physical and psychological health.

The researchers analyzed exercise such as walking, cycling, sailing and horseback riding. The biggest changes were in young people and mentally ill people, although people of all age groups and social groups benefited from the effectiveness of physical fitness exercise in nature.

The improved natural environments examined in the study, in particular public parks and green areas that contained water, increased health improvement.

"We believe that people can benefit greatly from outdoor fitness exercises, and if people maintain such an exercise routine, medical services will have to allocate less money to deal with medical problems," the researchers noted.

The study's recommendations for government agencies are to adopt guidelines for the public that support outdoor fitness and gardening. Also, it is preferable that these bodies invest in developing green environments that allow practicing fitness exercises in nature for the benefit of public health and reducing spending on health.

A fitness program that includes within it a natural green environment that meets both social and psychological needs is more effective when it becomes part of life, and not something that is sometimes introduced into daily life.

So come on, find the public park closest to your place of residence, go out every day for a short walk before work, incorporate running as a family competition or double riding on a bicycle at the weekend, as doing  exercise in the open air improves physical and psychological health, and stimulates a sense of happiness and well-being And good for fitness.
